Picking Up Your Share
- Upon arrival you will sign in at the registration table. Here you will find the weekly newsletter, any additional recipes, and veggie tip sheets. If you have ordered any of the optional products like dairy or poultry, they will also be available at that time.
- After signing in, you will be directed to a board indicating the contents of the week’s share, and then proceed to the produce tables to collect the week’s share.
- Each bin will be clearly marked with the specific amount of the item to take. Please bring your own bags to carry your produce home. We will try to gather a collection of plastic and paper bags to have available as well, so feel free to bring extras to share.
- After picking up your share you may proceed to the swap box. If there’s something in the share that you don’t want you can leave it in the swap box and exchange it for something someone else has left there.
Volunteering puts the “community” in Community Supported Agriculture. The four-hour volunteer requirement is a very important part of you membership commitment to the CSA. Volunteer jobs include helping out during distribution to sign people in, handling extra product orders, keeping produce tables stocked, and helping to set up and clean up the space. Without your help, the CSA cannot function.
If you cannot work during distribution, we can find other ways for you to fulfill your volunteer requirement through finding recipes for the newsletter, coordinating a potluck or making volunteer reminder phone calls. Do you have a special skill that might be useful to our CSA? Please let us know if you’d like to get involved!
