Safe Havens provide temporary housing for individuals who are prepared to leave the streets but have not yet completed the process for obtaining permanent housing.  The Safe Haven offers small private rooms with communal bathrooms and living spaces, meals, and links to critical supports like medical care and individualized case management.

Established in 2008, Common Ground’s Safe Haven facility in Jamaica, Queens provides temporary housing for individuals who are transitioning to permanent housing, newly facing homelessness, or who have struggled in other programs and are being served by Common Ground’s Street to Home programs and other outreach programs.
