Common Ground's Replication Program assists organizations interested in developing supportive housing in other communities. This past year, we partnered with organizations in Newburgh, New York, London, Toronto, and New Orleans; started two efforts in Connecticut; and held a Replication Institute for groups wishing to learn more about our work.

Adelaide Thinkers In Residence
(Adelaide, Australia) - Adelaide Thinkers in Residence is a project of the Government of South Australia, which invites world-class thinkers to Adelaide each year to advise the State on issues central to its strategic objectives. An appointment as an Adelaide Thinker in Residence recognizes both exceptional talent and outstanding leadership.

Connecticut
June 3, 2004 - Willimantic - Common Ground Contracted to Manage Seth Chauncey Hotel

Common Ground manages the renamed "Windham House," providing clean, safe, and affordable housing in an environment that promotes self-sufficiency. All residents pay at least 30% of their income in rent, and all are linked to community-based social services.

In addition to solid property management, Common Ground provides tenants with 24-hour front desk coverage and programs ranging from women's health night to computer training to game night.

The Replication Institute
Supported by the Blue Moon Fund, the Replication Institute offers organizations the opportunity to learn from Common Ground's experience in creating and operating supportive housing. Entitled "Supportive Housing: Getting Started and Succeeding," the two-day conference attracted over 80 social service providers, government agencies, and others interested in developing supportive housing. Participants came from 15 states and five countries and from as far away as Japan and Australia.
